Why Leave 10%

It’s an affordable way to give.

Almost anyone can leave 10% of whatever they have at the end of their lives to causes that are important to them and still support loved ones.

Each of us can help make this a better place.

If more South Sound residents include charitable instructions in their trust, will or beneficiary designations, the landscape of social causes in our region will be positively transformed forever.

A Pierce County Transfer of Wealth Study^TM published in 2021 estimated that $48.6 billion will be transferred between generations by 2030, yet many people don’t have plans to leave donations to non-profit organizations doing good work in their community. We can change that if we all leave 10%.

Funding of this magnitude could address the South Sound’s needs for affordable housing, health services, education, the environment, and many other charitable causes for the foreseeable future. It could transform our community.

It’s a great way to give back and pay it forward.

Leave 10 South Sound aims to build stronger communities and transform as many people as possible into philanthropists by educating, inspiring, and encouraging individuals to aspire to leave at least 10% of their estates to charity.
