At the VIRTUAL KCNE Conference
Date: September 29 & 30, 2020
Time: TBD
Notes: The purpose of the cohort is to give nonprofits an opportunity to come together (virtually) to learn from each other and other experts, share successes and failures, and support each other as we try to start or improve our planned giving programs and possibly even launch a Leave 10 campaign for our own nonprofit organizations.
Planned Giving Program Cohort
September 29 & 30, 2020 | the VIRTUAL KCNE Conference
Wish you could have an awesome Planned Giving Program and a set of Legacy Donors to match? Maybe you have both, but want to take your planned giving game to the next level? We’ve got an opportunity for you!
What Is It About?
At the March 2019 KCNE training, we announced and explained Leave 10 for Kitsap (“L10K”). L10K is a movement to encourage as many people as possible to leave at least 10% of their assets to local nonprofit organizations. We expect to actively work on this movement for at least the next two years.
We commissioned a Transfer of Wealth Study. This study indicates that $12 billion will transfer through estates on the Kitsap Peninsula in the next 10 years. Let’s get some of that transferred to nonprofits, including your organization.
In order to make this work, we need as many nonprofits as possible to build a planned giving program of some level and to ask their supporters to “leave 10” to them. The more nonprofits that are promoting this, the more successful it will be for everyone. This is akin to the Kitsap Great Give for planned giving.
When we’re able to meet in person, we host “planned giving program cohorts”. The purpose of these cohorts is to give nonprofits an opportunity to come together to learn from each other and other experts, share successes and failures, and support each other as we try to start or improve our planned giving programs and possibly even launch a Leave 10 campaign for our own nonprofit organizations.
How do I Register?
The next cohort meeting will be virtual. On September 29 & 30, 2020 at the VIRTUAL KCNE Conference.
Please use button at the bottom of this page to register.
Is there a Cost?
If you are a KCNE (Kitsap Center for Nonprofit Excellence) member, there is no additional cost for this cohort. If you are not a KCNE member, then you’ll need to become a member of Leave 10 for Kitsap. L10K membership costs $100. It is a one-time fee.
In return for this fee, special perks will be made available to you. Your first member perks will be a free copy of the Leave 10 Kitsap Planned Giving Toolkit and online access to all of the Toolkit’s materials, participation in this Planned Giving Program Cohort, and access to all of the Transfer of Wealth Study data. This Study and the Toolkit cost over $10,000 to complete. So you are getting a good deal We’re trying to make this relatively cheap so that any nonprofit can participate.
You can see the L10K website and become a L10K member here: https://www.leave10.org/for-nonprofits/become-a-member-organization/ .
Leave 10 Kitsap is a collaboration of founding partners from leading nonprofits in the Kitsap Area. Our mission is to build stronger communities by educating, encouraging and inspiring local residents to leave 10% of their assets to charity in their wills.
